
Michael Gambon
The BAFTA-winning actor stars in More4's dramatisation of Celebration.
He was born in Dublin in 1940 and moved with his family to London when still a young child. He didn't enjoy school and left at 15 to take up an apprenticeship as a toolmaker.
His stage debut was playing the 'second gentleman' in Othello at the Gate Theatre in 1962. The following year he was picked by Laurence Olivier for the National Theatre Company... You can read his filmography on the Channel 4 Film site.
